GLP-1 Care Continuity: Evaluation, Follow-up and Shared Decisions

Start with the individual and the product
Clinical evaluation should address the intended indication, medication list, contraindications, pregnancy considerations and relevant risks. The current Wegovy and Zepbound prescribing information provides product-specific instructions. Further examination or testing should be based on the clinical situation; these references do not justify a universal thyroid or metabolic laboratory panel.
Plan follow-up and nutrition support
Discuss tolerability, escalation instructions, symptom reporting and access to clinical assessment. The joint nutrition advisory describes multidisciplinary nutrition and activity support. Trials do not establish that gastrointestinal discontinuations are largely preventable by a particular clinic model.
Care continuity can include agreed follow-up, patient questions and relevant patient-reported information between visits. A technology platform does not replace a clinical assessment or guarantee adherence. GLP Help's provider page describes the current product workflows; practices should verify how these fit their own systems and responsibilities.
Keep maintenance decisions evidence-based
The STEP 1 extension found substantial weight regain after semaglutide and structured lifestyle support were withdrawn. It does not establish an untested low-dose maintenance regimen. Discuss ongoing treatment, risks, patient preferences and the applicable product recommendations through shared decisions.
Document treatment decisions and establish appropriate privacy, communication and escalation processes. Product functionality does not itself confer clinical authority or guarantee compliance. See GLP Help's security information and Palm Health for their respective public information.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does one trial define the right treatment for every patient? No. Trial populations, indications, risks and individual circumstances differ.
Can an app replace follow-up? No. Patient-reported logs can provide context; a responsible clinician determines evaluation, treatment and follow-up.
